Banana Packhouses

Akluj
Based on its international experience Unifrutti was able to setup and operate export packhouses for banana in a short span of time and is the first company to start exports from this area. The company was able to export more than 200 containers from Akluj within the first 9 months of starting operations. The packhouse at Akluj has the capacity of processing one container of bananas per day for exports and 4-5 tons for the domestic market.

Jalgaon
This packhouse caters to domestic requirement of Bananas, processing a minimum of 2 truck loads per day for North Indian states. In a new initiative, the company launched a Mobile packhouse in July 2009, the first company to start packing Bananas on mobile packhouses.

Indapur
Strategically located and with an abundant supply of quality produce, Indapur caters to domestic as well as export requirement. This packhouse processes a minimum of one container per day for exports and 4-5 tons for the domestic market. Scale-up plans are underway to increase domestic output at least three times. World class pre-cooling chambers are being installed to scale up exports by at least 4 times the current output from the same area.

Theni
Unifrutti chose Theni to start its Banana operations from South India. Setup recently, the packhouse caters to domestic requirement in that region where the quality is being appreciated immensely. Expansion plans are already in place to increase output for domestic sales. The packhouse is being setup to international standards to commence exports from this location.

Theni Model Farm
Unifrutti is setting up the First Model farm for Banana cultivation in Theni. This farm shall demonstrate scientific agronomy practices for banana cultivation and shall offer learning opportunities for local farmers on production of world class bananas.

Mobile Packhouse
Unifrutti has organized several mobile packhouses for Banana packaging to enable local farmers to sell their produce without having to incur transport costs and save the produce from damage. These highly efficient packhouses are equipped with weighing, washing, cleaning, drying, vacuuming and packing facilities, so that the available produce is packaged immediately on arrival for dispatch into domestic markets all over the country.
